Speed Breaker

Miami has many speed breakers like this one. Regular intersections are remodeled and circles are built with quite narrow driveways that motorists are forced to slow down to get through them to not breaking a wheel or two of their cars. I think that is an expense well spent. Besides, these have very attractive landscape as bonus to the city.

I'd say these are much nicer than speed bumps.

This is 64St SW, about 1.5 block West of 72nd Ave. This is a "secret" way for us locals to avoid the usual everyday early morning traffic jam on Sunset drive going East toward US1 from the Palmetto Expressway. Ahead is SW 72nd Avenue. There are a few more such traffic circles in this area which is very "exclusive" with big homes on big secluded lots. Ahead on the left is the big St. Thomas the Apostle church that I blogged on August 25th, 2009. This is early in the morning and I was the only car here while Sunset drive is bumper to bumper traffic.
