Daily... and since 2013... Weekly (hopefully) photos of Miami, Florida, USA. However, be amply warned!!! Sometimes, I tell the truth, other times, I may not. Sometimes, I am joking, other times, I may be serious. It may be hard for you to tell... So if I offend you, I am joking or not telling you the truth. But my photos are all real because I do not doctor them.

Cocos nucifera
Miami is not complete without its coconut trees. Here is a "Lethal Yellowing Disease" resistant tree with its trademark yellow nuts. Deliciously cold exotic drinks make you want to climb up these trees and the cocos nucifera are everywhere here.
Growing up in Miami in the 60's and 70's I remember the place was just full of these. There were actually many in the sandy part of Miami Beach at that time. It was beautiful. Then a blight hit around the middle '70s and most died off. . . Thanks for the memories.
Yes, Sally. Same answer here. What's more: I need the blue sky to function. The gray sky is the primary reason I left Paris years ago. Miami does have gray skies once in a blue moon. Read this.

ReplyDeleteLiving in Sydney people sometimes ask me "Don't you get sick of that blue sky all the time?" I bet you get the same!
ReplyDeleteMy answer: "NO, never!"

ReplyDeleteI put it down to jealousy! Thanks for link.
ReplyDeleteHmm, so how does one tell the difference from a tree with LY and a normally healthy yellow tree? Are the coconuts safe if they're yellow?
