  1. A beautiful tree that I have not heard of or seen. So it much be a 'tropical' variety.

  3. dear Abe,

definitely "tropical" and beautiful in scarlet, yellow and coral colors during the summer months. The tree itself is a great shade tree and as a child I remember sitting under one in my backyard and watching the fronds on the ground . . .

  4. Sometime in June, I will show you a few yellow poincianas that are magnificent. There is one in Coconut Grove (the best one,) one at my friend's house (tog blogging Coral Gables) and three in the University of Miami. every year I take dozens of photos of these rare yellow poincianas. I saw the first one in Bermuda years ago. That encounter taught me about the yellow species.
